Research & Development Research and development activites take a big role in Polimak Ltd. Every product we make, benefits from these activities. New production techniques, mechanisms are developed for roots blower, progressive cavity pump and gerotor pump.for increased efficiency and and quality. Development of new mechanisms and systems take big role in our R&D projects. In Custom Machines and Mechanisms section, application specific systems which were developed by Polimak can be seen as an example.
Some R&D Projects of Polimak Ltd Porous Ceramics Polimak has been developing and producing porous ceramics for several years. Porous ceramics are used in various industrial applications. They have excellent chemical wear and temperature resistance. They can be manufactured with different pore size and porosities which make them useful for different processes. Some of the applications of porous ceramics are filtration, chemical processes, gas burners and vacuum holding applications.
Tooth Prosthesis Press Tooth prosthesis press is designed and manufactured for a company which supplies dental products to dental clinics and laboratories. The press simply heats the tooth moulds by applying pressure and cools them also by applying pressure. It can process 6 moulds at the same time. In traditional production, the worker does these jobs one by one for each mould with a manual heating press and cooling press by using a holding rod. Because of the human factor, there exists user safety risk. More than that, production parameters like pressure, temperature and time control are controlled manually which leads to quality failures. By using the tooth prosthesis press; user safety, product quality and production rates are increased significantly. A microcontroller is used to control mechanical motions, production parameters (temperature, pressure, time control etc.) and user safety mechanisms which makes it a reliable production system. In the development process of the press, 3 prototypes were manufactured. One of these prototypes was a subject of a M.Sc. thesis. (Pullu M., “Design and Production of a Tooth Prosthesis Press”, Gazi University Institute of Science and Technology,1996). This project is also presented in Research and Development Market Seminar in Middle East Technical University. To download the presentation click here.
